GP Registrars

The practice has been a training practice for GP registrars since 2000, successfully passing several quality assessments to achieve this. GP Registrars are qualified doctors fully registered with the GMC who are completing their specialist training before becoming fully qualified GPs. All colleagues in training are closely supervised by an experienced GP who is available to them at all times. Occasionally, trainees need to be assessed through video and you may be asked if you would kindly participate.

Reception Team

The reception team are here to help you. They can advise you regarding appointments. All of the reception team have received extra training in care navigation and can advise you about what service would best suit your needs, which may not be a GP.  Please don’t hesitate to ask for help. In order to navigate you to the best service for your need our reception team will ask you for a brief description of your problem. Please remember that all our staff are bound by terms of the practice’s Staff Code of Conduct in respect of confidentiality.

Care Coordinators

The practice has a team of Care Coordinators who work closely with GPs and other teams in the practice to proactively identify and work with a caseload of patients (including the frail/elderly and those with long term health conditions). They act as a central point of support for patients by reviewing their needs and coordinating and assisting them to access/navigate the services they need.

Summarisers

The Ashfields Summariser Team receive all the incoming clinical letters, this includes electronic letters and those delivered via Royal Mail.  The team add clinical codes – which includes any diagnoses made by the hospital, along with any investigations the patient may have had done. The team also maintain patient records and add all new patient records to the practice system as they are received.  This ensures every patient record has up to date and concise information.

Prescription Team

The Ashfields Prescription Team are here to process your repeat medication requests and are available in person or via the phone to answer any queries regarding your medication. Not only will the team submit your requests to the GP for issuing, they will also process any new medications you may need as advised by consultants and other health professionals. The Prescription Team will invite you in to the surgery for relevant blood test and medication reviews, to ensure your medication is meeting your needs and is prescribed safely. They work closely with the practice pharmacist and pharmacy technicians to ensure your medication needs are met.

Management

Our practice management team can advise on administrative and non-medical matters, they can also discuss any suggestions to improve the service, or discuss any problems you may encounter.
